Winka Wildlife Safari grew out of a simple love for the wild east of Sri Lanka. Living beside Arugam Bay, we spent years exploring Kumana's tracks and lagoons long before we welcomed our first guests — and we still get up before dawn for the pleasure of it.
We are from this coast. That means we know which tracks flood after rain, where birds gather at the change of season and how to reach the park gates in good time. Local knowledge is what turns a drive into a safari.
We keep a respectful distance, never crowd or chase animals, and follow park rules without exception. A calm, quiet jeep sees more than a hurried one — and leaves the wilderness as it found it.
Our jeeps are open-sided and set up for visibility and photography, with shade above and comfortable seating for the drive from Arugam Bay to the park.
A small local team of drivers and guides who speak English and know the area intimately. You will deal with the same people from your first WhatsApp message to your drop-off.
We support the communities around the park, keep group sizes sensible, carry out everything we bring in and encourage guests to enjoy the wild on its own terms.
